From Monday 21 to Thursday 24 July in this, the inaugural Park Sounds competition, Canary Wharf Arts & Events showcased fresh musical talent from twenty new and emerging artists live on stage in Canada Square Park, Canary Wharf, 12–2 pm.
From indie to jazz, classical to folk, Park Sounds encouraged people to make the most of their lunchtimes and enjoy some fantastic live music. An array of talented musicians tried to secure your votes and make it through to the grand final, held on Friday 25 July, 6–9:30 pm, to become the Park Sounds 2008 winner.
After you, the audience, cast more than a thousand votes, the four finalists took to the stage on Friday to compete in front of a panel of Giles Broadbent, editor of The Wharf newspaper, Chris Dean, representing Gibson Guitars, and TV music presenter Sarah Cawood.
